Is Invisalign Right for You?
If you’re looking for an easy way to straighten your smile, Invisalign® may be right for you. Dr. Ang will guide you through the Invisalign process. It’s time for a smile you’ll really feel good about.
Invisalign gently shifts your teeth to the correct position using a series of clear aligners. Unlike metal braces, these aligners are practically invisible, so most people won’t even notice them. Invisalign is much more comfortable than regular braces and it never needs tightening — instead, you just change out your aligners every few weeks.
There are no restrictions on what you can eat with Invisalign because you simply remove the aligners when it’s time for a meal. And the Invisalign process will fix your smile about twice as fast on average as metal braces. Before you know it, you’ll be beaming with confidence and sharing your beautiful new smile with friends.
Invisalign Fixes Most Orthodontic Issues
Invisalign is a versatile treatment option that can be used to treat most of the same issues as traditional metal braces. This includes:
- Overbite – when the upper front teeth close over the lower teeth
- Underbite – when the lower teeth close over the upper front teeth
- Crossbite – when the upper and lower jaw doesn’t line up, causing some top teeth to close over the bottom teeth and some bottom teeth to close over the top teeth
- Gap Teeth – when there are extra spaces between some teeth
- Open Bite – when the top and bottom teeth don’t meet
- Crowded Teeth – when there isn’t enough room for all of the teeth to fit in the jaw
It Really Works When You Follow the Directions
You’ll receive a new set of aligners every few weeks — they’re custom-made to gradually shift the position of your teeth. All you have to do to get a perfect smile is to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day. About every eight weeks or so, you’ll visit Dr. Ang so he can monitor your progress.
We have a solution for parents who want to make sure their kids are wearing their aligners for the recommended amount of time. Invisalign’s exclusive Blue Dot Indicator gradually fades as your teenager wears them, so you’ll know when it’s being used as directed.
Are There Age Restrictions for Invisalign?
For our younger patients, we recommend waiting to undergo Invisalign treatment until all of their permanent teeth have come in, which typically happens in the pre-teen to early teen years. Fortunately, we offer Invisalign Teen, which is specially designed to help teens complete their orthodontic treatment.
There are no restrictions for our older patients when it comes to fixing your smile with Invisalign. In fact, the treatment was originally conceived to treat older patients who might feel self-conscious about wearing metal braces. There’s no age limit with Invisalign, but the process may take a little longer for older patients because they tend to have lower bone density.
